Comments from Jim Giles (Work in Progress, Last Update: May 8, 2009.)
My First Grade photo (left) which speaks volumes about race and culture. I remember when our public schools were integrated. It was like letting wild animals into the classroom. Our country has been in decline ever since.
The Hard Core Nucleus I seek would lead us back to a time when our schools were wholesome again as they were at Clinton Park in 1965. You say, "It can't be done." You are not part of that Hard Core Nucleus.
I grew up on Berkshire Street (#612) in Clinton, Mississippi. Mrs. Land was my First Grade teacher who also lived on Berkshire Street. Mrs. Land was severely assaulted at the Metro Center Mall by an African who slammed her to the ground. (Details of this assault need to be confirmed.) I sold flower seeds from a catalog to win some sort of item and Mrs. Land was always a reliable customer.

 1967,
I am #51 back row (the only 3rd grader and the youngest player on the team), with a future lawyer in front of me, Larry McMurtry, Assistant Attorney General (who also grew up on Berkshire Street, 2 houses up from me); I can't make Larry's # out but he played quarterback as did all the McMurtry brothers and they were big Joe Namath fans so it might have been #12; and a future doctor beside me, #40, Joe Campbell, MD, who practices down in Hattiesburg I believe. Joe played defensive end.
(1972 Clinton Jr. High Football Team) (I'm #66 back row, 8th grade.)

(1975 McCluer Academy Football Team) (I'm #77 second row, 10th grade.)
More to follow, including commentary on the era and people of the dates of the photos . . .
